Welcome to my personal style blog. My hope is that what you see from my closet inspires you to dig through yours to find new life in what you have and how you wear it. Of course what you have on doesn't define who you are, but it can make you feel better and sometimes all we need in order to do better, is to feel better. Friends often tease me by saying that I dress as if every day is a special occasion. To which I reply..."because it is".

Au Naturel
Au Naturel, definition: being in natural style or condition. I'm pretty sure you can guess that I am referring to my hair here (style, not color...clearly). When left to it's own devices it just gets bigger and bigger throughout the day as it drys. I normally reserve this look for when I am running really late, but this morning I was just bored with my straight hair so I let Mother Nature take over. As for what I am wearing, I went to the mall last night so my BF could pick up a couple of shirts and I ended up being lured into Express by all of the bright Spring colors exploding out from the inside. I stumbled upon this skirt and snatched it up so stealth-like you'd think I was "fixin'" to steal it. I love it!! It's light gray, black, and Kelly green...and just happens to go perfectly with this great top (I found in San Fran at Forever 21). I obviously paired it with tights and a flowy, more conservative top for my 9-5 today, but I think it would also look great with a black tank and strappy heels for a night out on the town. I'm looking forward to testing out its versatility (perhaps when I have a bit of a tan). The extrodinarily large hair is not the only thing that I switched up today. I am wearing silver. I rarely do that. Perhaps that's why my BFF/Photog, Carrie noticed my necklace today. No, no...that wasn't it. She noticed it because she seriously thought I was wearing a marijuana leaf around my neck. She was totally thrown off. I may have listened to The Grateful Dead station on Sirius XM all the way to work this morning, but I did not sport a pot leaf charm around my neck. For the record it is a lotus flower... and if you dry it up and try to sell if for $10 a bag, you'll probably get jumped (and be forced to find long-wear lipstick for your fat lip).
Oh, and I am going to draw a winner tomorrow for the Marthe Pinaire goodies, so if you are interested in signing up for it, just click here. :)
