Welcome to my personal style blog. My hope is that what you see from my closet inspires you to dig through yours to find new life in what you have and how you wear it. Of course what you have on doesn't define who you are, but it can make you feel better and sometimes all we need in order to do better, is to feel better. Friends often tease me by saying that I dress as if every day is a special occasion. To which I reply..."because it is".

Attention to Detail
I love all of the festive wear that the holiday season brings along with it!!! (I love it so much that statement warranted 3 exclamation points, apparently.) I decided to showcase some details from a look that I wore to a Christmas party this weekend and some outfits that I would consider for a New Years Eve night out on the town. My holiday look consists of 3 staples...Sequins, Faux-Fur, and Stilettos! Well, 4 staples if you count red lipstick. I mean, go big or go home, right? What other time of year is it as socially acceptable to head out the door looking like a sparkly snow globe threw up all over you!?! The three dresses in these photos are fabulous and although all consist of sequins, they are all completely different. The pink/purple one is a beautiful, eye-catching color that I found at lotus (Charlotte in The Met). It is fairly conservative cut in the front with a higher boat neck and 3/4 length sleeves. The back however is wide open. IF you can get away without wearing a bra...this is the dress to do it in. IF however you have NO BUSINESS WHATSOEVER leaving the house without a bra on like me :-( fear not, just pick out a bra (a cute one) and wear it with it. Do not however even dare of leaving the house with a white or cream, super-wide back, 6 snaps, bleach stained number with exposed, busted elastic please. Don't worry too much about it matching. The bra I wore with this was black with polka dots on it. The black and blue dress was a $400 dress that I scored for about $120. It has a great cut if you want to minimize your top. You can wear normal bra with it and if it is really cold out it would look just as cute with black tights and a blazer or cropped leather jacket. The long black dress is heavenly!!!!!!!! It is also from lotus. It is a one-shoulder, dramatic stunner! It has a really high slit, which keeps it smokin' hot. A full length skirt without a slit can look a little matronly and is not nearly as easy to move in. It has this amazing silver shine that glows when the light hits it (hence the black and silver shoe pairing). It is, of course, too much for a normal night out, but for a formal or gala it is absolute perfection. In my opinion, it is also classic and timeless. You can probably wear it at least once every year of your life that you still fit on it. I won't comment on every piece of jewelry in the photos, but there is one that stands out among all others. The PEACOCK earrings!!!! Come on....they are stupid amazing aren't they?!? I love them. No, really, I do. If my house were burning down, they may make the list of things to save.
