Yo.... Read This: An Invisible Thread

Laura and Maurice
You can find the book on Amazon. Get it HERE.
An Invisible Thread is the story of Laura Schroff and her friend, Maurice. They met on 56th street in Manhattan in 1986, when Laura was a 35-year-old single, successful ad sales executive, and Maurice was an 11-year-old homeless panhandler. He asked her for spare change; she ignored him and kept walking. But something made her stop, and turn around, and go back to him, and that day she took him to lunch at McDonalds. They met the Monday after that, and the following Monday, and every Monday for the next four years, and hundreds of times after that. Today, 25 years later they are family; he refers to her as "mom" and she calls Maurice the son she never had. An Invisible Thread  is the story of how Maurice changed Laura's life, and she his. It is the story of how two people who needed each other somehow became unlikely friends, against all odds. It is the story of the mysterious, unseen connections that exist between people who are destined to meet—and how, if only we open our eyes and our hearts to them, these connections can be the great blessings of our lives. I thought I'd share a bit about An Invisible Thread this morning in case you have found it difficult to get into the "Christmas Spirit". It's also a great read to get your mind right for a new year. You'll get goosebumps, and probably cry... but it's that "good for the soul" kind of cry. If this book doesn't do something for you... check your pulse. The story of An Invisible Thread is a great lesson in how just one person can right the wrongs the world inflicts on many of its people and not to take the easier approach of ignoring them. If you end up reading it, let me know what you think.

... and from my house to yours...
