Eddie Vedder meets Audrey Hepburn

1. This is what I wore to work yesterday. I had only ever worn this shirt on the weekends (untucked with leggings and boots), but today I decided to switch it up by tucking it into a leather-lined pencil skirt and adding copious amounts of pearls. I like to think that it is what may happen if  Eddie Vedder and Audrey Hepburn were forced to agree on an outfit... or had a steamy romp that resulted in a love child. A little Pearl Jam 90's grunge.. and little Breakfast at Tiffany's

2. Did you notice my jade bracelet (2nd pic)? It was an unexpected gift from my friend, Cindy. It's from Vietnam. I love it and I have not taken it off since I got it. You know that else I love.....

3. Random, but.... handwritten, snail mailed Thank-You notes. I love them! What a lost art, man. I have been on the receiving end of a few in the last couple of months and they are really, very special. I have all three of them right where I can see them every day. They make me happy, and are a gentle reminder to do nice things for others. (So... if you're reading this, thank YOU for my thank-you notes... Leah, Courtney, and Jermeliah.) Speaking of happy...

4. I had Dr. Oz on the television while I was working from home today. I had it on mute, but turned on the sound after looking up and seeing that they were talking about how to increase your happiness. They outlined 3 simple things that you can start doing today. In case you're interested... here they are...

  1. Make your bed, or clean up a small mess. Doing so makes you feel accomplished and gives a sense of order. (I make my bed EVERYSINGLEMORNING and I must say. My OCD makes me extreeeeeeeeemely happy. )
  2. Log your gratitude. Write down one thing a day that you are happy for... big or small. Do this every day and at the end of the week, read them out loud to yourself. (Today, I am grateful for the fact that I don't have a monster zit on my face. Thought I felt one coming the other day on the every tip of my nose <epic fail>, but I nipped it in the bud. Hey... I said log "big OR small" things. You're not going to be the Dali Lama of gratitude every day.)
  3. Eat Omega 3s: salmon, walnuts, flaxseed (to name a few). (If you don't like any of those foods, then I don't know what to tell you... except that you are doomed to a lifetime of misery. Sorry about your luck.)
